About

The analytics were rarely the hard part.

For twenty years I worked where data meets a decision — across billion-dollar capital projects, offshore joint ventures, a national retail network, and a US$40 billion global supply chain. The pattern was always the same. Building the model, the pipeline, the dashboard — that was the manageable part. Getting people to own the data, agree what a number actually meant, and then act on it — that was the work.

So that's the work I do now. I advise organisations on data strategy and governance, write about the human side of decision-making, and run a learning community for people who would rather think a problem through than reach for the nearest dashboard. The through-line, on every surface: AI can sharpen a decision, but a person still has to make it — and answer for it.

Off the clock: a committed sci-fi reader and a hands-on learner — the kind who understands a new tool best by building something real with it.

Making

Things I build to understand them.

Reading about a tool teaches you what it claims to do; building with it teaches you where it breaks. So I make things — code and video — on data and analytics, productivity and personal effectiveness, and share the working rather than just the conclusion.

Community

Level Up — and a few other rooms worth being in.

Level Up: Thinking Tools for Impact — Share. Learn. Think. Achieve more.

In 2025 I founded Level Up, a learning circle for people who want to sharpen how they think, decide and explain. It has grown to 300+ members, a 4.9★ rating on Meetup, and ten-plus original workshops — with the newsletter carrying the ideas between sessions.
